Transferring Inventory
Overview: It's a situation in which you never want to find yourself. You are sending out a reservation to a customer who is standing right in from of you when you find the item they reserved was taken to another store last week and no one transferred it in the computer. If the store is across town it's an inconvenience, but can be overcome, but if it is 2 hours away you are about make a customer very unhappy and possibly lose their business. For this reason it is very important to make transfers whenever items are moved between stores. It not only keeps business running smooth but it also keeps everyone happy.
There are two types of transfers:
Temporary Bulk Item Transfers
Permanent Transfers for Bulk or Serialized items
• Note – You can now change the Due Back Date of an item ot set when the item will be avalable in the receiving store. The duration that has been defined in the Store Transfer Delay will be the dafault duratiion, but I can be manually overwritten as well. ( See Transfer Dely to set up the delay time).
