How to Edit Item Rates

1.   From the Program Menu, choose #6 File Maintenance and then choose Item File.

2.   Search for the item(s) you would like to update using any of the search tools included in the Inventory Selection Screen.

3.   Right-click the item you want to edit and select Edit Rates.

4.   A box will pop up with pre-set period hours. Please note the period hours have to be set in ascending order; if you want to add a 3-day period you need to enter it below the 1-day period. You have the option of manually typing in the rates or you can use the daily multiplier.

Special Rate                    – Allows you to set the special rate based on Individual, Pricing Type, Store, Job Site. From here you can also set the daily, weekly, monthly, discount Amt, discount % and set a date range.

Special Daily Rates      – Allows you to set different rates daily, based on the day of the week. You might do more business on the weekends were your rates would be higher than in the middle of the week.

5.   The Daily Multiplier is helpful if your rates follow a consistent structure. For example, if your four hour rate is always one half the daily rate and the weekly rate is 3 times the daily rate, you can enter 0.5 in the four hour column and 3 in the weekly (168 hour) column. Your Daily Rate will always be ‘1’ and all other rates will be a multiple of the daily. When the Update button is clicked POR will compute the other rates. The Daily Multiplier box next to the day rate must be set to 1 or the rates will not compute correctly.

6.   If you are simply increasing an existing rate all that is required is to update the daily rate. When you click the Update button POR computes the other rates based on the multiplier.

7.   Any rates left blank will not update in the item record. You can set special rates by clicking on the Special Rates and Special Daily Rates at the top and enter the deposit and serial number in the lower boxes. When finished, click OK.
